Meet the Cast of the Final Stanza
Paul Ryan- Phill
PHILL FOSTER is a 30-year-old man from Liverpool. He works in a job that he hates because his boss is rude and arrogant and he has a toxic relationship with his girlfriend and lives a mundane life. After, what he thinks is, a cancer diagnosis where he thinks he has five months left to live, he starts to live a more carefree, reckless life after taking on his friend, Stuart’s, advice. Phill is a ditsy character who isn’t the best listener. He changes from a miserable man who lets people walk all over him to an outspoken, insulting character who acts as a relatable, comedic protagonist.

J.D. Justice- Stuart Skinner
STUART SKINNER is a 40-year-old male who has a terminal illness and is a friend of Phill. He lives the careless lifestyle that Phill adopts, and encourages Phill to live life to the fullest, not doing the mundane tasks in his life and being more outspoken. Stuart’s character is quite wacky, and he does questionable things throughout the film. He doesn’t have a job and enjoys going to the pub despite being ‘skint’. His long hair and bead gives him an appearance that he isn’t quite put together and shows how he fully adopts to the carefree lifestyle.

Kitty Ball- Laura
Laura is Phill’s girlfriend and is in her late 20s. Her relationship with Phill is quite difficult, she feels as she is nagging him a lot, to do things, however Phill doesn’t listen, and it creates a divide in the relationship. She likes to make a good impression to guests and is a perfectionist. Laura can be quite sarcastic which sometimes Phill doesn’t catch on to. She cares a lot for Phill but gets easily annoyed. She enjoys nice things and spending time with her sister, who Phill hates. She loves florals and everything to be perfect.

Dr. Gleason is a man in his mid-forties who presents himself as professional by wearing a fine suit, but his manner conveys a more laid-back, almost reckless attitude. Although he is intelligent, he lacks empathy and frequently downplays serious issues. I n a certain scene in the film, he adopts a casual, almost unsuitable Yorkshire accent, and it becomes clear that he is flippant, in contrast to his calm, detached delivery of dreadful news. Despite his competence, Dr. Gleason lacks the seriousness that one would expect from a physician, and his way of acting impolitely—especially when intoxicated—gives him a fault in his professionalism.
Graham Lyne- Dr Gleason

Darren is a hot-headed, no-nonsense boss from Birmingham who is in his late 30s. He has a keen, commanding demeanour, a strong sense of superiority, and impatience. He has little patience for errors and is quick to criticise, particularly when it comes to his employees' duties. When things don't go his way, Darren frequently loses his temper and becomes intolerant. He demands results and respect despite his severe manner, perhaps going too far. His response to Phill's cancer diagnosis shows a momentary, awkward sense of empathy beneath the stern front that clearly he puts on.
Harry Peaker- Darren
